Welcome to Jedediah’s Newsletter where you will find updates, new offerings, and ways to provide your important feedback. Jedediah’s values your business, your partnership, and your role in improving our service every day. We thank you for your continued support!
We have had an epic winter in Jackson Hole. We know this because of the excited customers we see landing with their ski gear, the smiles on their faces when they share their experiences on their way back home, and also because a record number of our favorite customers – our locals – are escaping the snow with more “work” trips to sunny locations than we can remember.
Happy Customers, Happy Locals
We love serving Jackson Hole, and being reminded about how great our community is. The power outage risked customer comfort, warmth, and reliable schedules. We saw unspoken heroes everywhere at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and within the ranks of Lower Valley Energy, local law enforcement, and emergency service workers. We had stellar reminders of human goodness at the airport, too. As a matter of fact, Airport Assistant Manager Dustin Havel innovated on the spot to provide generator power to our coolers with moments to spare. Because of him, we were able to keep Jackson Hole customers fed and warm while they waited for cancelled flights to be rescheduled. As one of our employees was pushing a food cart through the airport, matching orders made before the power went out with the families whose hungry kids were melting down, we overheard one mother say, “I’ve never seen something like this. They actually figured out how to get us taken care of! I’ve never seen anything like this, in any airport, anywhere.” Though that week was hard on residents and visitors alike – and especially Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Lower Valley employees – it reminded us that we live in a great community, and we still watch out for each other.
Hats Off to JAC Staff
We couldn’t do what we do without the front line workers, security, gate agents, problem-solvers, baggage detectives, and luggage handlers. We served them up a hearty Jed’s breakfast a few weeks ago and went through over 200 meals. That’s a lot of people committed to ensuring your airport experience is successful and enjoyable.
JH Airport Board Brief
We’d like to thank John Eastman for serving the community as Chair of the Airport Board, and welcome incoming Chair Jim Waldrop. We could not be more excited about their vision to upgrade the last part of the old physical plant, which will translate into a smoother, less constricted kitchen and serving area. More yummy food for you, more comfort while you wait, and more options to sustain yourselves for your travels. Thanks to the airport board members for serving, for thinking ahead, and for making our airport one of the most efficient in the resort network.
As the winter winds down, we can already feel the summer crowds around the corner and we are actively getting ready for the big push.
New Menu Items and Some Local Flavor
Jedediah’s in Missoula is working on some menu updates for the summer and we are excited for local fare. Stop by the restaurant and ask Sean what we have in store. We would love to hear your thoughts before we finalize for the summer season! We are also working with Poor Farmer Cider to bring a Missoula Hard Cider to the airport. We love our ability to support popular local micro brew selections.
We live in eco-conscious communities, and being a true environmental partner is important to us, and the customers we serve. We will roll out Jedediah’s Environmental Initiatives at the Missoula Airport this Spring. This program has been very successful in Jackson and look forward to introducing it in Missoula.
Name: Jedediah’s will increase our commitment to be green with a new program, A Lighter Step: Sustainable Actions that Matter
Recycling Containers: We have purchased new containers for the public area of the restaurant to increase plastic bottle and newspaper recycling in the restaurant.
Bulk Products: We are switching from single serve coffee creamers and sugars to bulk systems to cut back on the packaging waste.
Reusable Bottles: In the patio area, we will display reusable water cold drink and hot drink bottles to encourage people to purchase and use those instead of the disposable bottles and cups. We will have a low cost option to ensure that the pricing is not prohibiting customers from using this option.
Airport Employees: We will provide all airport staff collapsible reusable water bottles to cut down on single use paper cups for water.
Thank You MSO Airport Staff
We had a near emergency with the grease trap system and Thad was a HUGE help in avoiding that crisis!
